The April program is open to Melville SHS students and will be held on the Melville SHS campus in week 2 of the holidays.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

In the April holidays, students have an excellent opportunity to consolidate and extend their understanding of syllabus content as they prepare for first semester exams. This program reteaches both subject matter and strategies for approaching ATAR-style examination questions in order to create successful responses that will be fully rewarded by the marker. This is fundamentally a teaching program, but there will be opportunities for students to independently work through exam questions under the guidance and supervision of their instructors.

Each of the teachers engaged to deliver these classes creates for the program a comprehensive set of materials that includes study tips and strategies, revision notes, and examples of ATAR-style questions with their solutions.

LOCATION

The program will be delivered on the Melville SHS campus. All students will be emailed a map with the specific classroom locations after they enrol in the program.

ATAR EXAM PREPARATION

The tutorials commence with a focus on revision of specific topics followed by a discussion on how this material is assessed in ATAR-style exam questions. There is sufficient time within the six hours for teachers to model how to answer exam questions successfully as well as time for students to independently practice constructing their own responses. All our ATAR teachers know what needs to be addressed to ensure students achieve success in their final examinations.

$50 per subject (6 hours of teaching)
