The January Jump-Start Program is open to students from all Western Australian schools and will be held on the Hale School campus.

The program aims to:

  • Teach, revise and reinforce sound Study Skills before the commencement of the new academic year.
  • Revise the important components from the 2024 syllabus that are relevant to the new syllabus.
  • Offer students a preview of what they can expect in their new courses in 2025.
Program Includes:

Transition Skills: This program aims to better prepare year 6 students who have graduated from primary school in 2024 and who are entering secondary school in 2025. This course focuses not only on enhancing study skills but on honing skills related to relationship building and problem solving. It aims to resolve concerns derived from entering and interacting within a secondary school environment.

Study Skills: These tutorials contain six hours of teaching broken up into two hours a day for three days. They focus on units such as goal setting, learning strategies, note taking and time management.

Essay Writing: The essay writing tutorials consist of six hours of teaching broken up into two hours a day for three days. They re-teach the structure of a critical essay, reinforce the importance of constructing a sound thesis and topic sentences, and revise how to include evidence to justify these claims. Subject Revision: These classes consist of six hours of teaching broken up into two hours a day for three days. The program consists of re-teaching and revision of the important components of the syllabus that are relevant to the 2025 curriculum.

NAPLAN 

NAPLAN is a national assessment program evaluating literacy and numeracy standards for students in years 7 and 9. The test commences Wednesday 12 March to Monday 24 March.
WACE+ comprehensive NAPLAN preparation program will revise the structure, format and content of these tests and better prepare students for success.

OLNA

The OLNA is an online literacy and numeracy assessment designed to enable students to successfully fulfil the WACE proficiency requirements for secondary school graduation.

$199 for each class (All classes are 6 hours of tuition)
