PISA results show weakness in Maths, Science and English

The results of international testing by PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) released November 2019 indicate that Australian students are under-performing and are lagging their counterparts in other countries, sometimes by as much as three years of schooling.

More concerning is the increasing trend in students who are struggling. The test results reveal that while 12% of the cohort in 2000 were having difficulty with their studies this figure had risen to 21% in 2018. Alarmingly the number of capable students achieving high results declined from 18% in 2000 to 13% in 2018.

Despite the best efforts of teachers and Government, these results are very disappointing.

A separate OECD report also identified that classroom discipline has become a significant problem in Australian schools. Out of the 76 countries surveyed Australia was ranked 69th with 21% of students reporting that they struggled to concentrate on their work due to discipline issues, and 43% reporting that there was noise and disorder in most or every English class that they attended.

Courses run by Master Mind Australia are explicitly designed to address these issues.  Our superior education professionals explicitly teach, reinforce and extend students’ knowledge to ensure that they have an excellent grasp of their course content, and then model how to use this information to successfully complete assessment tasks.

Master Mind Australia’s classes are also kept small to minimise disruption to students and ensure that the learning environment is free from distraction so that students can learn to their full capacity.
